Quick Notes: Maybelline Dream Mousse or The Body Shop Lip and Cheeks Stain

Red and pink – these two colors are so strongly etched in our fables. Pink/red lips and pink cheeks have always been shown as images of beauty. Pssst.. Did I do a trip to wonderland?

Well we know doing the powder blush routine everyday can be daunting for that kiss-of-pink-my-cheeks-look.

So, I had been meaning to try the Lip and Cheek Tints since some time. (For the uninitiated, these tints are like lip gloss-cum-liquid blush, to give absolute natural flushed cheeks.) The Body Shop had this in a beautiful bright red color called Lip and Cheek Stain. So I tried it on! On cheeks, one application didn’t show any tint. It had to be done twice to feel the color. The gauzy liquid is thick and sticky like a gloss. And Body Shop’s tint is a rather decent gloss. You can apply the brush directly on lips. For cheeks, I will give it a miss.

This tint is also available in Lakme (called Just Kissed from Bridal range). If you must have this product, then go for The Body Shop. Lakme has it in a tube with brush on top. Steer clear of liquids in tubes!

Another alternative to the Tints is Mousse. Maybelline has been Dream Mousse Blush, which can be a great every day blush. It blends very well as it’s a super creamy texture. Trust it to give you a touch of sheen, although not to be overdone because a distinct glitter will make it unnatural. Its very convenient to apply and results are great. It lasts for 6 to 8 hours.
